- EAVESY’S DI2 ROAD BIKE -

Eavesy is a mate of around 18 years, thats half my life. We met through BMX when I first moved to Leeds and have been in and out of touch a few times over that period but its always easy to pick up where we left off. We first spoke about building a bike around 12 years ago but one thing or another always came up and stopped it in its tracks. Having built this bike, I feel like it was well worth the wait.

The frame is the first actual commission where I have used a carbon seat tube. I have been riding mine for about a year now and my other friend George has been riding his for two years. Having ridden hard on most of my build styles, and having been way happier than I ever expected with this style, I feel this method is the pinnacle of what I now build from a performance perspective. Stiffer at the BB, lighter and just as comfortable as you’d expect from a mostly steel frame, it has added a new element to my own experience of the frames I build. I feel I have now got the proportions in check too and with how happy Eavesy has been with this bike, I think he thinks so too.

The paint was inspired by the acetylene smoke styles of the world of custom choppers and hotrods. Oxy-Acetylene being my choice of heat source, there was a nice little crossover in this one. These images don’t even come close to going this bike any justice, the finish is exceptional and has a gorgeous blue pearl running through the whole frame. Being a mate, Eavesy qualified for the ‘friends and family’ badge adopted from the old Feather Cycles Racing bikes and kept alive through my nearest and dearest.
